My topic of the speech today is”environment protection”.Our environment is very important for our lives.We need the fresh air,the clean water and so on.In the past,there were many trees around us,the air was fresh and the river was clean.Butnow,people cut down many trees and air pollution,waterpolloution is very serious.The environment around us becomes very terrible.We should protect our environment.First,we should plant many trees to keep water.Second,we can ride a bike or walk to the school and work.Third,we shouldn’t throw the dirty water into the river.Fourth,we shouldn’t use the plastic bags.Finally,we can ask more people to join us.

it’s my honor to stand here to make the speech.the topic of my speech is “protect the environment,protect ourselves”.
when i was a little girl,i usually played with my friends in the river in front of our house.it was a small river and the water can just submerge our calf.the river was so clean that its bottom can be seen through the water.the tadpole moved freely in the water.the flowers opened here and there.the birds were singing leisurely.that’s the most beautiful scene in my memory about my childhood.
several years passed,the river is no longer like the past look.when i go back my hometown,the river shocks me.waste paper and used coke cans are discarded everywhere.plastic bags fly in the sky and get caught in the trees when the wind blows.garbage floats in the river and pollute the water.i can even hear the cry of the river,“help! help! ”
now,more and more people realize that humans are to blame for the worsening of the earth’s environment,including the climate change and the environmental pollution.our activities today will have a profound impact on society,not only for us,but for many generations to come.
many scientists proved that the climate warming was caused by burning of fossil fuels in factories,buildings and cars.the sea level rises faster than past decades.
on the other hand,a large amount of waste collected from homes,offices and industries end up in landfills.landfills are a major source of pollution.they contain harmful chemicals that can seep into the soil and make it polluted.
protecting the environment is everyone’s responsibility.firstly,governments should forbid destroying plants,rivers and lakes,oceans,and the atmosphere as well.secondly,voices should be heard to remind the public of the importance of protecting the environment.thirdly,enterprises should pay special attention to the effect they have on the environment and work out solutions to the problems.
only by changing the way we treat the environment can we get along well with it.it’s high time that we unite as one to make up this common cause.no matter young or old,women or men,we are just one people on the lonely planet.protect the environment is to protect ourselves.

it seems to me that many people or even countries lack a sense of responsibility.the earthquake of japan caused the nuclear leak of fukushima nuclear power station.when the whole world was worried about the dangerous situation,japan unilaterally declared that they had no choice but pulled the polluted water contained radio material into the ocean.i don’t want to emphasize more about how terrible for the halo bios once the water is in the ocean,or how great threat to the ecological system.the only thing i want to say is:”japan,you are shrinking from this responsibility”
the earth is our common home which needs our common protection.one country’s strength is never enough.so i think environmental protection needs global cooperation.
in addition,the government should enact and improve rules and regulations and enforce laws strictly.it’s necessary to set up a legal aid fund aiming to help the people who participate in the environmental
protection enrolled.the government should establish long-term consciousness,coordinated development of economy and environment protection.
as for ourselves,people have the rights to live in “clean and rich environment” as well as the duty to protect,raise and create such environment.low carbon life is a e_cellent way to show our love to our environment.
i hope we will not drink water with cancerogen; we can breathe fresh air; we can fall asleep without worrying about floods and tsunami.i hope after several decades,we can still see a beautiful earth.
